BCR-02.1: Autoscaling is configured to deploy compute resources in multiple availability zones (AZs). This improves resiliency in case of a single resource or availability zone (networking) failure. This capability is supported on all major cloud providers. This strategy should be used for containers or virtual machines/instances. For maturity Level 2, only some workloads need to be configured for autoscaling across availability zones.
  • Control automation: Automated
  • AWS control specification: * There are instances in the account and at least one autoscale group is established and configured to use multiple availability zones
  • There are containers in the account and they are either hosted in Fargate or are configured on a cluster deployed in multiple AZs
  • Azure control specification: none
  • GCP control specification: none
  • Third-party (CSPM/CNAPP) control specification: none
